Trauma Response/Crisis Management

Trauma Response Service: Taking Care of People in Troubled Times

A critical incident is a workplace crisis where death, serious injury or risk of death or serious injury occurs. It may also include workplace situations with high emotional impact. In the event of a critical incident affecting the workplace, Public Safety EAP will provide the appropriate response to your request for assistance.

Critical Incidents Include:

  • Line of Duty Death or Serious Injury
  • Deadly Force Used by or Against a Public Safety Responder
  • Multiple Fatalities
  • Death or Serious Injury to Children
  • Violent Trauma
  • Prolonged Rescue Efforts
  • Witnessing a Suicide or Suicide Attempt

Public Safety EAP will provide a triage assessment of the crisis. This may be followed by other telephonic resources. If on-site response is required, Public Safety EAP will coordinate the services of our Incident Response Team (IRT). All IRT members are qualified and experienced in providing critical incident support.
